Warmup/WOD:
We pulled together a team of 5 on like 1.5hr notice to attend and compete in the Reebok CrossFit Drop Box event located at the Academy in Keller. I rush out there to find not many ppl there. It could be because it was 1000degrees outside at 2:30pm! Anyway, we got there and had to wait until 3:30pm to see if we could sign up to do the 4pm WOD. So we took some pics while we waited and shopped at Academy in the nice cool AC. I got some new socks to wear for the upcoming competition (bright neon green!!) and some blue shoe laces and blue athletic tapes for the snatches. It's gonna be awesome! If nothing else, we'll look super cool.
The WOD was team of 5, 7min AMRAP:
- sprints
- KB swings (I did 35#)
- air squats
- 10# med ball deadlifts
- pushups
The sprinter determined how long the stations were. Reps were totaled based off of everything but the sprints.
Results:
I got 161 reps, but our team totaled 625. We did pretty well. There was myself and one other guy who'd done CF previously. The others were all newbies. I did my darndest to shout words of encouragement a lot. I always think it helps the other ppl but for some reason it also helps me as well!
