I went to the doc yesterday about my finger. It was really bothering me Friday ALL day long, so I finally relented & figured I'd go in Saturday morning and have the doc relieve the pressure on my fingernail by poking a hole in it. (That still grosses me out.) Turns out it wasn't necessary because the hematoma wasn't enough to warrant it. Doc said I could do it if I wanted him to, but that since there wasn't enough blood in the area then it'd probably hurt and I'd feel the heat from the needle. NO THANKS! He ordered xrays, and lo & behold found that the top was indeed broken. I knew something was off about it, cuz it didn't feel right & wasn't healing like I'd expected. I kept telling myself I was just being a wuss about it, not being able to grip or how it hurts after a bit of typing with it. Sheesh. Only another 4-6 weeks to go for recovery. Waaaahhhhh
Now for the bad news. I purposely did the KBs tonight in this wod to see if I'd be able to get at least 80 in a row for one of the final benchmark wods. I was able to do several rounds of 10 but quickly reduced to 5. Toward the end it was getting almost impossible. I overcompensated for not using the middle finger and rubbed the skin off my pinky. I won't be able to complete five rounds of 20 without my grip going to Hades. Nor can I finish Christine, with the DLs. :( I'm majorly bummed about it! Doc said pain should be my guidance on whether or not I do a movement with it. But also got the warning to not push it either. I swear, athletes make the worst patients...
But let's end on a good note: I had a great weekend home alone & caught up on my DVR shows!!
