Whoops, that should've read that Sideswipe was DNF due to injury, not Shockwave! I was running my heart out, pretending I was Felix Jones (but with real legs and I'm not murdering anyone!), and doing pretty good as far as time is concerned. But then on round 6 about halfway through the run I had an acute stab of pain in my hip/butt and realized something was not right. I limped off to go roll out and then work with the lacrosse ball. Turns out that was a terrible mistake. Doc says I probably made it worse, which I validated by the way the pain then radiated up my posterior chain. I had my athletic trainer sister check me out later in the weekend, and she was pretty much on spot with the isocheral tuberosity being the issue. However, she was concerned that it may have detached or fractured from the pelvis bone, so I wound up seeing the ortho. Xrays revealed that didn't look to be the case.

Because the sharp pain only comes when I have a normal gait (I'm simply shortening it for now) or when I bend over, it's easy to avoid doing that and avoid the pain. HOWEVER, because the isocheral tuberosity is where the hamstring meets the butt bone, it makes it VERY uncomfortable to sit. It's like a constant throbbing. Guess I'll be focusing on upper body wods for the next month or so. Docs says to take 2 weeks to return to walking normally without pain before any rehab is considered.
