Sat, Dec 4 -- COMPETITION DAY!!

Today was my first Crossfit Team Competition!! We had a really good time, and actually wound up "wrecking shop", to quote Michael (team member). Our team in the intermediate division placed 2nd, and the elite team placed 3rd. We were all quite proud of ourselves. See the pics & video below for what my camera captured. There were several cameras out there, so hopefully we'll get to see everyone's at some point.

Fri, Dec 3

Wow, last night was a late night. Went straight from work to Owen's daycare to hear him sing Christmas songs (he was great!), then over to a fellow karate kai's house to assemble black belt goodie bags. I didn't get home until after 10pm. Then I went straight to bed and got a couple hours of sleep before the hubby's snore-fest began. *sigh*  Oh well. A full day today with a decent bedtime tonight should have me geared up for tomorrow's competition! I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. I'm just glad we have a backup male team mate ready to step in for poor James (bad disc in his back took him out of the running). A "thanks" shout out to Michael for stepping up & to Randy for having the patience to stick

FOOD

BF = banana, 2 donuts, 1 bacon taquito (flour tortilla)

Lunch = 1 taquito + 2 tangerines

Dinner =  chips & salsa

WOD

No wod. Resting before the team competition tomorrow!

Thur, Dec 2

Still no fish burps! I'm just gonna go out on a limb today and say that the day started of with a banana and 3 buttermilk donuts, and ended with 4 mini-pumpkin muffins. Everything else in between was just sheer madness (with a few Paleo exceptions thrown in for good measure). But I am not repeating here what I consumed yesterday. For SHAME!

Starting Saturday, I am going back to a more Paleo-style eating. Not as strict as the 30-day challenge, but I'll stick to it as closely as possible.

No WOD today.

Watched Owen sing "I Want a Hippopotamus for Christmas" at his daycare's Xmas Lighting event. SO cute! Yeah, I'm a wee bit proud of him.  ;)

Stay tuned for a more 'normal' posting tomorrow.

Wed, Dec 1

Today I realized there are only 23 more shopping days left for Christmas. I started early but I still have a ways to go before being done. I plan on NOT making it a stressful event!!

Good news -- still no fish burps. Surprising, since I'm combining the fish pills with a multi-vitamin, Niacin, and a calcium chew. I still keep waiting....

FOOD

BF = 7 paleo pancakes, 5 pieces of bacon, swig of freshly-squeezed grapefruit/oj combination

Snack = small piece of bday cake

Lunch = turkey, grapes, applesauce, 12oz freshly-squeezed gf/oj juice, small piece of pumpkin pie

Snack = more grapes, 5 half-dollar-sized paleo cookies, 1 square 78% dark cacao

Dinner =  6 paleo meatballs (turned out really good!!) + fruit/spinach smoothie, 2.5 sugar cookies

Tues, Nov 30

Last day of November. Where has the year gone? So I've started taking fish oil pills (3000mg a day). We will see if that doesn't help improve shoulder mobility as 3 doctors now have told me it should. Tami swears by them. It's been 2 days now, and I haven't had a fish burp yet....
